Singapore
Singapore— the melting pot of Asia, a blend of eastern and western influences.
This country is seriously one of the most disciplined and cleanest I have seen, I didn’t even see a fly here even in their food centers.
Upon arriving in Singapore we decided to buy the Singapore Tourist Pass Plus for each of us, it is an ez-link card that gives you access to Singapore’s basic bus services, LRT and MRT. To be honest this was a wrong move because when I computed everything it definitely was expensive… if on a budget just opt for the ordinary ez-link which you can load and use to pay for different things in Singapore. The great thing about this pass is it’s very convenient to use and you can keep it as a souvenir.
The Orchard Road
Orchard Road is definitely the shopping capital of Singapore, there are lots of malls here and high end shops.
Vivo City
The largest mall in Singapore…
From Vivo City you can ride the Cable Car (Mount Faber and Sentosa Line)
We’ve decided to buy the 55 SGD ticket for unlimited rides of the Cable Cars and experience 2 attractions of Sentosa.
Mount Faber Park
Ring the bell of friendship and make a wish through the wishing bells.
Siloso Beach and Fort Siloso
Explore Fort Siloso, a fort built in the late 19th century…
Merlion Park
This is the first attraction that we decided to see in Sentosa. You can ride the elevator to the top of the Merlion and its mouth.
Wings of Time
This is the second attraction that we chose at Sentosa.
Show schedule is at 7:40 and 8:40 daily.
This I swear is one of the best attractions of Sentosa, totally worth seeing!
Gardens by the Bay
This Singapore tourist attraction is out of this world, a must-visit attraction and something you shouldn’t dare to miss. It was beautiful and educational too. This attraction is the best description of Singapore; well-thought, futuristic and one of a kind.
There are 2 conservatories in Gardens by the Bay:
The conservatories are intended to be an energy efficient showcase of sustainable building technologies and to provide an all-weather edutainment space within the Gardens. (wikipedia)
Cloud Forest Dome
This conservatory replicates the cool moist conditions found in tropical mountain regions. (wikipedia)
Flower Dome
This conservatory replicates a mild, dry climate and features plants found in the Mediterranean and other semi-arid tropical regions (e.g. parts of Australia, South America, South Africa). (wikipedia)
Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay Sands is a famous luxury hotel in Singapore.
It has a mall inside and different dining options, it also has an observation deck but you’ll have to pay for the ticket.
There is also a free to the public light and water show by Marina Bay Sands called Spectra.
Haji Lane
Hip neighbourhood situated at Kampong Glam with lots of boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Lots of artsy spots to take photos. too.
Masjid Sultan
Also located at Kampong Glam is a Sultan Mosque, a place of worship for the Muslim community… also a building that’s worth taking a photo of because of its impressive facade.
Chinatown
Lots of things you can buy in this area and there’s also a Hawker Center here that has the famous world’s cheapest 1 Michelin Star… Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle
We queued up for about an hour, but it was worth it!
Other places to visit:
1-Altitude for great panoramic views of Singapore.
Singapore Flyer
Universal Studios
Singapore Zoo
Singapore Night Zoo
Merlion Park
Food
Hawker Centers are a great way to explore the food scene in Singapore, lots of different options in a friendly price.
We visited two Hawker Centers during our trip to Singapore.
Maxwell Center
I also ordered a soybean curd from this stall and ordered it with black bean syrup… it was sooo good.
Chinatown Complex Food Center
This is where the Liao Fan Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice & Noodle is located.
The best Hainanese Chicken I’ve tried is at LOY KEE CHICKEN RICE at Balestier Road.
Best place to eat Durian is at Mr. Durian.
Best milk tea? Koi The
We loved having our breakfast at Artisan Boulangerie Co./ ABC
When you are in a hawker center, and can’t decide which one to try… find the stall with the longest queue!!!
