BULA!
BULA, in Fijian terms means life, it is the word they use for hello, goodbye, and many more. Expect to hear this word wherever you go in Fiji. The fijians we encountered here were so friendly, I really liked their culture.
We went to Fiji mainly to attend my cousin’s wedding which was held at the InterContinental. This was my first destination wedding to attend, and it was beautiful
Fiji was so captivating, we were able to visit InterContinental’s Natadola Beach, Shangri-la’s Yanuca Beach, and 2 Islands of the Mamanucas (pronounced as Mamanuthas) namely Tivua Island which is a Private Island of the Captain Cook Cruises and Treasure Island which we were able to get to through South Star Cruises.
Our trip in Fiji was definitely a beautiful trip not just because of the mesmerizing beaches and marine life but most definitely because of the culture and the hospitality of the Fijians.
*Since we decided last minute that we will be going to Fiji to attend my cousin’s wedding, most accommodations were already fully booked including Intercontinental but our relatives from Australia were able to book us rooms at Gecko’s Resort. Gecko’s was minutes away from Intercon and the easiest and cheapest way to go back and forth from Gecko’s to InterCon would be by renting a car which was by the way a very great idea as you’d be able to explore a lot through this method. On the other half of our trip we stayed at The Terraces Apartment which is located at Denarau Island, this apartment type accommodation is just a walking distance from the Port Denarau Shopping Centre and from the Denarau Port which is the gateway to the Mamanucas, so if you’re planning to visit the Mamanucas and just do day trips this is the place to stay.
I can’t wait to go back to Fiji again and explore the other Islands!!! So much more things to experience and explore in this beautiful Island country.
